Legal

Terms

Last reviewed 1 September 2026. Terms of use for this site, and the trading and warranty terms a contractor of this kind would work to.

Demonstration site. Blueprint Mechanical is not a real contractor, holds no licence, and cannot enter into a contract. The licence number, phone numbers and address on this site are placeholders. Nothing here is an offer, and nothing here is professional engineering advice for a specific building.

Using this site

The content is provided for demonstration. The engineering explanations are written to be correct in general terms, and the standards, design conditions and physical relationships cited are real. They are not a substitute for a load calculation on your specific building, performed by a licensed contractor or engineer who has seen it.

Accuracy

Codes, standards and refrigerant regulations change. Figures such as design temperatures, efficiency minimums and derate rules are accurate as reviewed but should be checked against the current edition of the governing standard and the manufacturer's own installation instructions before anyone relies on them.

Proposals and pricing

On a live site, a proposal would be valid for 30 days from issue, would state a fixed scope and a fixed price against that scope, and would list any exclusions explicitly. Changes to scope would be handled by written variation before the work is done, not by an adjustment on the final invoice.

Warranty

The warranty position a contractor of this kind would offer:

  • Labour and workmanship: two years from substantial completion, covering anything that fails because of how it was installed.
  • Equipment: the manufacturer's warranty, registered by us on your behalf at commissioning, with the registration confirmation included in the handover file. Typically one to ten years depending on the component.
  • Design: where we performed the load calculation and the equipment selection, we stand behind the sizing. If the system does not meet the stated design condition and the installation matches the design, correcting it is our cost.
  • What it would not cover: damage from lack of maintenance, filters not changed, alterations by others, changes of building use that alter the load, and acts of God including hail, which in Colorado is worth naming explicitly.

Payment

Typical terms would be a deposit against long-lead equipment at order, progress payments against agreed milestones, and the balance on completion of commissioning rather than on completion of installation. Retention, where a contract requires it, would be released on issue of the TAB and commissioning reports.

Insurance and licensing

Colorado issues no statewide HVAC contractor licence. Mechanical work is licensed by the municipality, and for work in Denver that means City and County of Denver, Community Planning and Development. A real contractor would carry general liability, workers compensation and auto insurance, and would provide a certificate on request. The licence number on this site,DEMO-000000, is a deliberate placeholder.

Liability

Nothing on this demonstration site creates a contract, a duty of care or any liability. On a live site, liability would be as set out in the signed contract for the specific project.

Governing law

Colorado law would govern, with venue in the City and County of Denver.

Contact

Questions about these terms would go to [email protected], which is a placeholder address on this demonstration site.
